If you are planning to do work on or near a waterway in Montana, one or several permits may be required. Conservation Districts, along with participating agencies, created a Joint Application Form (see below) to help reduce the number of application forms that you need to complete to get your permits. For detailed information on stream permitting please read the Stream Permitting Book.

Flathead Conservation District administers the 310 Permit within Flathead County. 310 Permits are free and required for any project that will physically alter or modify a stream, its bed, or immediate banks. Use the Joint Application Form to apply for a 310 Permit.

Filling Out and Submitting Forms & Applications:

Read the instructions carefully before filing for your permit as additional information may be required for your application. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. A complete 310-Permit application must be submitted to the Flathead Conservation District office no later than one week prior to the Board meeting.
