The Flathead Conservation District offers college scholarships to qualified local high school seniors intending to pursue a degree in natural resources or a related field. Appropriate courses of study include agriculture, animal/range science, forestry, environmental science/engineering, hydrology, land resources, plant science, wildlife biology, etc.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Student must intend to pursue a degree in natural resources or related field
  • Student must reside in Flathead County
  • Student must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5
  • Students may receive a scholarship only once

Application Requirements:

  • Complete application form
  • School transcript
  • Letter of recommendation from an instructor
  • A 500 word essay answering one of the questions provided in the application form

Submit applications and all required materials:

Applications and all required materials are due March 15th by 4:00PM

If awarded a scholarship, students will be required to attend a FCD board meeting to meet/talk with the Board of Supervisors about their education plans/goals. If selected, additional paperwork regarding school and payment information is due June 1st by 4:00PM. Failure to turn in this paperwork on time could result in loss of scholarship.
