College Scholarships Available

The Flathead Conservation district (FCD) offers college scholarships to qualified local high school seniors, wishing to pursue degrees in a natural resource field.  Appropriate courses of study include agriculture, animal/range science, forestry, environmental science/engineering, hydrology, land resources, plant science, wildlife biology, etc.

  • Student must reside in Flathead County
  • Student must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5.

In addition to this signed application form, you must submit:

A letter of recommendation from an instructor familiar with your work.  Your official transcript listing courses taken and grades received (all personal information will be held confidential).

An original 500 word essay answering ONE of the following questions:

  • Describe yourself and your involvement/interest in the environment and natural resources. Address what you feel is the most important natural resource issue in your community and why. How can you promote the conservation of natural resources?
  • Why have you chosen the natural resources field? Describe your experience or community service pertaining to natural resources (agricultural experience, Envirothon, classes, FFA, 4-H, etc.) and how you plan to impact natural resource conservation in the future.

Completed applications and attached additional information must be received in the FCD office by 4 pm on March 152018.
