Supporting the Flathead’s Students and Teachers

Did you know Flathead Conservation District has a wide range of funding opportunities for Flathead County students and educators?  It’s a priority for our Conservation District to help support students and teachers who are committed to learning about our natural resources.

If you’re a high school senior, or know one, who is interested in pursuing a natural resource related education, we have college scholarships available.  The application period is open now through March 15th.  Relevant courses of study include agriculture, animal or range science, forestry, environmental science, environmental engineering, hydrology, land resources, plant science, wildlife biology, and more.

For younger kids who may be interested in attending a camp that is focused on natural resources, science, agriculture, or other related topics, we offer sponsorship of camp registration costs.  Students and parents, we encourage you to reach out if financial support would make this experience happen for your family. Youth camps such as Montana Natural Resource Youth Camp or Montana Range Camp would be a good fit for this program. Families should apply before June 1st for this summer.

If you’re a teacher in Flathead County, either in a traditional classroom or non-traditional setting, such as a camp or nature center, we can help provide the tools you need.  Flathead Conservation District’s Education Grant Program can fund materials, supplies, or other expenses for your resource conservation curriculum in topics such as soil, water, forestry, natural history, fisheries, or wildlife.

We encourage you to contact us to find out how we can support your education or your program!
